Covenant

Participants can agree to the following:

• Attend the art setup, show opening, and take down in person
• Participate in discussion events to share progress, needs, and feedback
• Contribute to the collective artist journal/catalog 
• Write an artist statement for your work for the show
• Treat all participants and audience with respect
• Foster safe space to share work for feedback and needs
• Don't share other participant's work without permission
• Quick to inform organizer if situation changes
• Read and accept the terms for participants

Terms for participants

• All participation is voluntary and at will. Participants agree to the expectations set forth in the covenant and if situations change, will inform the organizer as soon as possible.  
• If the work is physically installed at the venue, each participating artist is responsible for installing and removing their work. Some limited assistance, tools, and hanging supplies may be provided but the artist is ultimately responsible for what they need to install.
• Participant will not hold the venue, organizers, participants, or any 3rd parties liable for any injuries or damages from participating in the art show for the duration of the event including installation and removal of the artwork. 
• Participant will not create or communicate any depiction of sexually explicit materials or any form of hateful or racist imagery.
• Participant owns all rights to their work created and will not use work produced by another artist without a written permission from the artist. 
• Digital copies of the work submitted by the artist for the final show may be used for the purpose of organizing and promoting the current year’s event. 
• Organizers may use photos taken during the Art for Story events for community engagement and social media.
• Each artist's artwork sales are to be handled by the artist independently. Organizers and volunteers will direct the buyer’s attention to owner of the artwork on-site or share contact information if made available to the organizer or event. By default, no commission fees from artwork sale is owed to the host or organizer. If any fees by the venue is required for any sales that occur during the usage of the venue, it will be communicated to the artists in writing prior to the event. Artists are fully responsible for managing communication, payment, and fees related to the fulfilling the sales of work. We only ask that the work if sold remain installed until the end of the show period. 

About

Art for Story is a Christian faith based artist collective with participants near Lancaster and Lebanon, PA. 

Participants work toward an annual art show and share creative processes through dialogue. Their purpose is to help artists discover, develop, and strengthen personal relationship with Christ. They observe, listen, and respond artistically from what it means to worship in truth, responding from love first given to amplify culture care. Participants are encouraged to share their creative journey and inspire dialogue with others in growing their craft in a safe environment.
